At UFC 178, Poirier was defeated by McGregor through first-round TKO, but at UFC 257, the No. 2 lightweight exacted revenge by defeating McGregor via second-round TKO. At UFC 264, Poirier defeated McGregor via first-round TKO when the referee had to stop the bout due to McGregor’s broken leg. This was the third and highly anticipated fight in their trilogy. McGregor will have the chance to make amends and reclaim the title picture when Poirier makes his comeback.
