UFC shocking Judges decision: From Islam Makhachev’s victory to Johny Hendricks’s loss top 5 controversial UFC Decisions

George St. Pierre vs Johny Hendricks

Hendricks trounced the veteran MMA fighter in the battle, making it one of the most memorable fights of his career. However, while pressed about the result, Hendricks doesn’t want to talk about it since ‘GSP’ won on a split decision even after getting trounced by Hendricks.

Even though he was not able to land the knockout punch, Hendricks struck St-Pierre harder than anybody else. Additionally, St-Pierre’s striking was exposed, but this wasn’t the normal deconstruction of his defenses.

There was a shift in the air when the last bell rang everyone assumed Hendricks had won anew, but two of the three judges disagreed, awarding St-Pierre the victory through a split decision, shocking the whole MMA community.

Islam Makhachev’s UFC 284 victory

At the most recent UFC 284 event, Islam Makhachev went to Perth, Australia to face Alexander Volkanovski in defense of his Lightweight championship. Two of the champions competed in the contest, which served as the finest bout in history. Although the match was tight, it wasn’t close enough to be much in favor of Dagestani. Just because Volkanovski demonstrated why he is one of the best fighters.

However, once the decision was official UFC fans hurried to social media to denounce it as a robbery. Volkanovski himself said that he had now watched the fight again and realized he actually dominated and that he was now pressing for a rematch.

Nate Diaz vs Carlos Condit

Given the reputations of Condit and Diaz for spectacular knockouts and brutal battles, some fans might have found it unexpected that there wasn’t a fight to the finish. However, for many fans, this encounter was a fantastic illustration of the robbery.

As typical, we assumed Nick Diaz had won the fight since he was the obvious attacker, absorbed all of Condit’s blows unharmed, and was practically hunting Condit around the cage. Condit, on the other hand, appeared frightened, retreated, and continued to assault Diaz with ineffective pitter-patter strikes.

Bisping vs Hamil

Back in 2007, 16 years ago fans saw one of the first fans rages over the judge’s decision. It was the matchup between the two UFC superstars Michael Bisping and Matt Hamill. The match showed the fans’ passion for the sport as the uproar went on a significant scale that even now UFC fans talk about it.

In the exact same fashion as others, Matt Hamill destroyed Bisping but ultimately was on the losing end and Bisping became a hate figure in the UFC world. Due to the bout occurring in Bisping’s native UK, some fans have even charged that the judges were biased. But this is inaccurate, and the judges’ preference for Bisping’s busier over Hamill’s far more successful strategy is just the result of poor scoring.

BJ Penn vs Frankie Edgar

It was anticipated that the lightweight championship battle between BJ Penn and Frankie Edgar at UFC 112 would be a one-sided contest. However, the battles were quite close. As Penn chased and made the more difficult strokes, Edgar dribbled in and out of range, scoring with combinations.

Frankie “The Answer” Edgar overcame the UFC veteran in what is likely to be remembered as the biggest upset of 2010 and probably in UFC history. It’s interesting to note that one judge’s decision to award Edgar points in each round may have been the fight’s most contentious decision.
