Conor McGregor sent shockwaves through the entire MMA community when he first appeared in the UFC. ‘Notorious’ knocked out most of his opponents on way to becoming the first double champion of the promotion in 2016. However, his glorious run hasn’t been impressive since then.
After knocking out Eddie Alvarez, Conor McGregor made his boxing debut in 2017 and took on the unbeaten Floyd Mayweather. With a hefty payday earned, McGregor returned to the UFC in 2018, only to get submitted by Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. Nevertheless, his current net worth stands at a whopping $200 million, which is still the highest amount earned by any UFC fighter.
Following the loss against Nurmagomedov, McGregor hung up his MMA gloves for a brief period. He made another comeback in January 2020 against Donald Cerrone and score a sensational first-round KO. Meanwhile, that is his last victory in the UFC till now . Conor McGregor has lost twice against ‘Diamond’ Poirier since then at UFC 257 and UFC 264.
He suffered an ankle injury in his last fight against Poirier. Although McGregor seems to have recovered from it, he is yet to announce his next fight officially. On his upcoming journey, McGregor can either stay at 155 lbs or may move up to the 170 lbs division.
