Interestingly, the credit of having this ‘never say die’ attitude goes to Brian Ortega’s dad. Ahead of his UFC Fight Night headliner against Yair Rodriguez, Ortega opened up on how impactful his father was in his life.

He also revealed how his father had taught him survival from a situation one would like to avoid at all costs. Brian Ortega said:
“[My father] is the most humble man, who is deserving of so much. He taught me how to survive my whole life. I got shot at with my dad when I was five years old. People, at that time, if you looked a certain way, would try to fight you. Me, naturally, I had that look, the best thing he could do at that time was coach me how to survive.”
It is safe to say that the experiences Brian Ortega had as a child have prepared him to take on anything that life throws at him. Just like every other sour instance in his life, ‘T-City’ will also look to overcome the loss suffered in his previous fight.
