UFC Fight Night 215 live: Derrick Lewis vs Sergey Spivac live: Derrick Lewis pulled out of his UFC Fight Night 215 main-event clash against Sergey Spivac in the final hours. According to reports, Derrick Lewis was ill and was taken to the hospital. This clearly disheartened several UFC fans who were waiting to see ‘The Black Beast return’. Nevertheless, the UFC Fight Night 215 was full of exciting matchups. Here’s a detailed look at how all the fights went at UFC Fight Night 215 without Derrick Lewis vs Sergey Spivac.

The UFC Fight Night 215 Prelims ended with one stoppage and six full-length fights. Meanwhile, the main card already has witnessed two stoppages and a decision in results.

UFC Fight Night live: Derrick Lewis vs Sergey Spivac: Main card results

Main-event: Kennedy Nzechukwu beats Ion Cutelaba via TKO in round two

Co-main event: Waldo Cortes-Acosta beats Chase Sherman via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)

Muslim Salikhov beats Andre Fialho via TKO in the third round

Jack Della Maddalena beats Danny Roberts via TKO in the first round

Kennedy Nzechukwu beats Ion Cutelaba via TKO in round two

The main-event ended with a TKO even though Derrick Lewis wasn’t there. ‘African Savage’ Nzechukwu didn’t let the fans miss out on a high-profile stoppage win.

Rd 1- The first round was quite close, with a slow start from both sides. Cutelaba took down his opponent commendably and flexed his grounding skills. Nzechukwu was clearly getting punished but he planned to change things in round two.

Rd 2 The round two merely began and Nzechukwu came forward with a knee. He successfully hurt Cutelaba and followed it up with a barrage of shots. The referee finally jumped in and stopped the fight to hand Nzechukwu his UFC Fight Night 215 win.

Waldo Cortes-Acosta beats Chase Sherman via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)

Rd 1- Chase Sherman and Waldo Cortes-Acosta didn’t rush for a kill as both men looked composed. They took their time before pulling the shots. However, Sherman landed a few shots. Cortes-Acosta also hurt his opponent but ended up being taken down by the end of round one.

Rd 2- Waldo Cortes-Acosta dominated the entire round two. Both fighters seemed low on their gas tank which didn’t shun Acosta from throwing the big shots. He hit Chase Sherman all throughout and even found time to mock his opponent. Sherman however survived the punishment and advanced himself to round three.

Rd 3-  Neither man showed KO power in the final round but they kept hitting each other. Waldo Cortes-Acosta was jabbing throughout and seemingly wanted to win the fight via stoppage. That said, Chase Sherman fought till the final bell but ended up losing on the scorecard.

Muslim Salikhov beats Andre Fialho via TKO in the third round

Rd 1- Andre Fialho started the first round by hurting Muskim Salikhov’s left eye. Despite being taken down, Fialho bounced back in style. He planted good combinations and looked dominating. However, the next round began in a different style.

Rd 2- Muslim Salikhov used his jabs brilliantly and put on his hands all over Fialho. The second round went completely in favor of Salikhov as he also landed a big superman punch. He left Fialho with a bleeding nose and did a lot of damage before entering the final round.

Rd 3-  Salikhov began the third round with similar aggression. Andre Fialho was still recovering from the damage when his opponent put more pressure on him. With no legitimate defense from Andre Fialho, the referee intervened and stopped the fight.

 

Jack Della Maddalena beats Danny Roberts via TKO in the first round

The fight merely began, and Madalena began pouring his hard strikes on Danny Roberts. With just a minute passed, JDM had already shot 30 significant strikes while Roberts was still being defensive. Danny tried to go for a takedown, but Maddalena secured his position and landed a series of punches to stop the fight in his favor.

Vanessa Demopoulos beats Maria Oliveira via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Brady Hiestand beats Fernie Garcia via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Natalia Siva TKOs Tereza Bleda in 1:27 minutes of round three

Miles Johns beats Vince Morales via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)

Jennifer Maia beats Maryna Moroz via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)

Charles Johnson beats Zhaglas Zhumagulov via split decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29)

Rd 1- Zhaglas Zhumagulov seemed the aggressor for the entire round one. Despite coming across two illegal blows which paused the action, Zhumagulov rocked his opponent Johnson. Both men laded their best shots, but Zhumagulov could become more successful in the mix.

Rd 2- The second round was action packed too as Zhumagulov started off with top-tier striking. He planted kicks and punches but was abruptly caught by a good shot from Johnson. It wasn’t an eye poke, although Zhaglas claimed it to be. Next, Johnson got hit in the groin and the fight was halted for a while. As the fight resumed, both men had their successful moments, but Zhumagulov still had more prominent scenarios.

Rd 3 – Johnson landed two back-to-back hits on Zhumagulov’s groin and breaks the fight again. The action resumed with Zhumagulov landing big hits. However, Johnson’s slick movement favored him in the match. The two didn’t back off from showing their grudge as neither man was shaken by the big blows. Following a full-length war, Charles Johnson won via split decision

Jennifer Maia beats Maryna Moroz via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)

Rd 1- Jennifer Maia and Maryna Moroz started the fight aggressively. Although Maia landed the bigger shots, Moroz put on a strong offense too. Both women landed combinations of their own, turning it into a fan-favorite contest.

Rd 2- Maia and Moroz began striking hard. Neither woman backed off as they planted shots with harsh intentions. Meanwhile, Jennifer Maia closed the round by landing a front kick to her opponent’s face. It was a solid shot.

Rd 3- The fight turned intense as the rounds went by. Jennifer Maia and Maryna Moroz stood strong and kept punishing each other. Moroz landed a big shot on Maia but consumed a combination in return. After a three-round contest, Maia was handed the victory on judges’ scorecard.

Miles Johns beats Vince Morales via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)

Miles Johns came across some tough times but ended up winning the showdown on the scorecard.

Rd 1- Both men hesitated to pull off the shots and flexed some technical boxing moves. It was a slow start, and neither man did anything commendable in the round. However, Vince Morales landed a crisp one-two combination to end the round.

Rd 2-  Things looked pretty bad for Johns as he began bleeding after Morales hit him with a jab. Meanwhile, Johns landed an inside leg kick and applied a lot of feints. Johns accidentally eye-poked his rival which halted the clash. Both men landed combinations as the fight resumed.

Rd 3-  Morales and Johns landed jabs on eachother. That said, Johns seemed the aggressor. Miles Johns then shot a takedown. While Moraes went back on his feet and kicked his opponent, he was fed to the canvas by Johns. After a slow-paced bout, Johns won the show.

Ricky Turcios beats Kevin Natividad via a split decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29)

Ricky Turcios outclassed Natividad after a hard-fought battle, which might have been the most close-call in the UFC Fight Night 215 so far.

Rd 1- Turcios started the first round by actively going to the ground. He kept his composure calm throughout the first round and didn’t let his opponent do much damage.

Rd 2- Ricky Turcios began round two in a similar fashion and tried to take the competition to the mat. However, Natividad scored a takedown this time. He then followed it up with a left hook which shook Ricky Turcios. Although Ricky Turcios fired his own shots, Natividad took him down again, but this time Ricky took control of the position.

Rd 3- Natividad tried to choke out Ricky Turcios from the beginning of round three with a successful knee planted on his opponent. Nevertheless, Turcios kept his pace high in the closing minute. Neither of the two backed off as we saw a high cottage fight. However, Ricky Turcios could sweep the win on the scorecard.

 

Vanessa Demopoulos beats Maria Oliveira via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Vanessa Demopoulos extended her two-fight win streak to three by outclassing a tough opponent in Maria Oliveira.

Rd-1 Vanessa showed a strong stand-up game at the begging of the fight and suddenly took down her opponent mid-way. By the end of the maiden round, Vanessa got into mount and let go of some hard elbows and punches on Maria Oliveira.

Rd-2 The second round also went in Vanessa’s favor, who knocked down Oliveria with a hard shot and then applied some brutal ground and pound.

Rd 3- Maria Oliveira turned the tables in round three but ‘Lil Monster’ scored another takedown and emptied her opponent’s gas tank to win the bout on a decision.

Brady Hiestand beats Fernie Garcia via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Brady Hiestand earned a commendable win tonight and the TUF 29 finalist impressed the UFC fans with his A-listed ground game.

Rd1- Fernie Garcia landed a hard right hand on Bradley Hiestand which forced Hietsnand to take things to the ground. However, Garcia dominated there too as he almost secured a choke. Nevertheless, Brady Hiestand took side control and found himself back in the game.

Rd2- Brady Hiestand successfully landed a pair of head kicks on Garcia and took him down to the mat. However, Fernie Garcia went back up and tried to and big shots but found very little success.

Rd3- Hiestand completely dominated his opponent on the mat. He didn’t let his opponent take control and comfortably beat him throughout the final round of the clash.

 

Natalia Siva TKOs Tereza Bleda in 1:27 minutes of round three

Brazilian star Natalia Silva scored her eighth consecutive win by knocking out Tereza Bleda, which might be deemed the perfect start to the Derrick Lews vs Sergey Spivac  UFCB fight night

Rd 1- Tereza Bleda started off smartly as she locked up Natalia Silva. However, Silva survived the takedown and turned the tables by taking down Bleda in the second minute. The ground game between the two was commendable. Bleda locked Silva in a triangle choke but Natalia Silva survived.

Rd 2- Natalia Silva landed a solid right hand in the early minutes of round two, which Terza Bleda consumed. However, Silva followed it up with another right hand. Bleda tried to take the fight to the mat, but Natalia Silva successfully stood up.

Rd3- Natalia Silva connected Bleda with a thrilling spinning back kick to the jaw. She followed it up with hard shots as referee Chris Togono called off the fight.
