UFC Fight Night: Derrick Lewis vs Sergey Spivac: Prelims preview and Prediction

  • Charles Johnson vs Zhalgas Zhumagulov

The flyweight matchup between Charles Johnson (11-3) and Zhalgas Zhumagulov (14-7) will take place in the premier prelim slot of UFC Vegas 65. After a strong showing, both men will compete to increase the flyweight rankings. It’s time to analyze this contest and determine which bets are the greatest for Johnson vs. Zhumagulov.

Charles Johnson is attempting to recover from his July decision defeat to Muhammad Mokaev. After losing his last two battles, Zhalgas Zhumagulov will try to turn things around. The previous occasion was a split decision loss over Jeff Molina.

Johnson will have a significant height and reach advantage, which will significantly influence the fight’s outcome. By keeping Zhumagulov at a distance, he can dissect him from the outside.

  • Jennifer Maia vs Maryna Moroz

In the second match of UFC Fight Night, Jennifer Maia, a recent championship contender, will face Maryna Moroz, a proud Ukrainian, in an attempt to end her losing streak.

Earlier, in her last bout, Jennifer Maia was beaten by Manon Fiorot in a convincing unanimous decision. On the other hand, Maryna Moroz’s previous bout against Sijara Eubanks got canceled. Moroz seems confident about taking down Maia in the upcoming bout.

  • Vince Morales vs Miles Johns

Vince Morales, If given the opportunity to let his punches fly in the pocket, this skilled boxer is more than a match for anyone. Meanwhile, it’s unlikely that his opponent Miles Johns’ wrestling has disappeared, even though Johns has yet to make it a significant emphasis since entering the UFC.

Despite Morales’ technical advantages with his hands, it is still hesitant to give him the edge on the feet because of his vulnerability to low kicks. Johns frequently employs low kicks in his arsenal. Otherwise, there could have been a chance of Morales pulling off the surprise, but Johns wouldn’t refrain from taking advantage of Morales’ key weaknesses.

  • Kevin Natividad vs Ricky Turcios

Ricky Turcios was defeated by a unanimous decision in his UFC debut against Aiemann Zahabi. The thought is that someone struck Turcios over the head to remind him that he needed to commit to his strikes because he initially appeared unaware of how awful his performance was.

If Turcios doesn’t actually touch Kevin Natividad’s dubious chin, there is no way in hell he can touch it up. Natividad has chosen to stay on his feet in both of his UFC fights, despite the fact that his ground game is perhaps his finest asset. He is strong and in fantastic shape.

  • Vanessa Demopoulos vs Maria Oliveira

Maria Oliveira (13-5) stands four inches taller than Vanessa Demopoulos (8-4) and gains seven inches in reach. Of course, Oliveira may just beat Demopoulos into submission, especially if she is as reluctant to engage in a wrestling match as she was in previous attempts. Though durability has never been a concern for her, the nice double-leg Demopoulos landed against Frey offers me some hope. She will eventually catch Oliveira.

  • Brady Hiestand vs Fernie Garci

With a stunning knockout of Joshua Weems on Contender Series, Fernie Garcia (10-2) essentially sealed his way to the UFC and extended his winning streak to five games. He wasn’t quite as successful against Journey Newson, who gave Garcia his first defeat in three years. He’ll benefit from an extra four inches of reach.

Brady Hiestand (5-2) defeated veterans Vince Murdock and Josh Rettinghouse to get to the TUF 29 finals. In their respective Octagon debuts, he faced off against colleague Ricky Turcios and ultimately lost via split decision. His first appearance in nearly 14 months is this one.

The biggest worry in this situation is Hiestand’s cardio, which has previously let him down, but I’m optimistic that he took something away from the fight with Turcios. Even if he didn’t, it wouldn’t be a big concern because Garcia lacks the strength to mount a late rally. Hiestand dominates him on the ground to earn his first Octagon triumph.

  • Natália Silva vs Tereza Bleda

As the winner of the Jungle Fight, Natalia Silva (13-5-1) joined the UFC, only to sit out the following 2.5 years. In her June 2022 debut, a clinical dissection of Contender Series graduate Jasmine Jasudavicius in Austin, she made up for the lost time.  Seven of her ten professional stoppage victories came by submission.

Tereza Bleda, 20, had a perfect amateur record of 6-0 before dominating the Oktagon promotion in her home Czech Republic. Her efforts earned her a spot in the Contender Series, which she took full advantage of by outclassing Nayara Maia to land a deal with the UFC. Her six-inch reach and five-inch height will outmatch Silva.

The rapid evolution of Bleda might have quickly filled in all the gaps in her strategy, giving her victory in this match. However, Silva will likely dismantle her with kicks and quick-fire punching flurries for either a wide decision or late stoppage after witnessing him dismantle a similar type of opponent in Jasudavicius.
