Nzechukwu returned from a poor first round to hammer Ion Cutelaba on his way to a second-round stoppage in the replacement main event, which helped save a card that had lost its scheduled Derrick Lewis vs. Serghei Spivac main event at the last minute.

By defeating their respective opponents, Andre Fialho and Tereza Bleda, with spinning kicks, Salikhov and Silva both increased their winning totals. Silva found a late finish with a kick to the face against the debutant Bleda, while Salikhov endured some difficult moments to fight for the win.

In what was supposed to be the main event opener, Della Maddalena quickly dispatched veteran welterweight Danny Roberts to record his third first-round knockout in as many UFC appearances.
