Luke Rockhold & Francis Ngannou says UFC is exploiting fighters’ contracts & sponsorships

Rockhold is making his much awaited return after 3 years and is set to headline the UFC 278 Co-main event against Paulo Costa.

Luke looked quite rusty as he forgot he forgot to speak on the mic and turn his phone silent during the conference..

However his determination and approach was not rusty at all when it came to speak about Fighters’ pay.

He ripped UFC apart and told how they are exploiting Fighters for their own good.

Luke said “I’m not saying anything that’s not real. Everything I’m saying is justified and truthful. Just because I should be in a position of power before I say this sh*t? F*** off. I have nothing to lose. I don’t need this business. I love fighting, and I’m here to fight the best motherf***ers, and this happens to be the place where it’s done. The company is f***ing growing, and they’re implementing other little stupid-ass bonuses – $5,000 here, $5,000 there. $50,000, man? We’ve been stuck on this motherf***er for 20 f***ing years. I mean, back when GSP was fighting Jake, I mean, what was it? $100,000? F***ing it was growing.”

Rockhold seemed to be unimpressed with UFC’s new ownership and they way they allow Dana to take complete control over everything.

Luke said “When Lorenzo and Frank were running the show, there was real grounding wires. These guys don’t know what they’re doing, and they’re letting Dana just run the show and suppress the sport. They need to grow. This whole f***ing thing needs to grow together. Our lives are on the f***ing line. Healthcare needs to be taken care of. Our f***ing health needs to be taken care of. Mine has not been taken care of. Do you know what I mean?

“There’s a lot of people and things that need to change. I’m just not going to be afraid to say it. Everyone wants to f***ing get that title shot. They want to move up. I’ve f***ing done it all. It’s like, yeah, this is business. Every business is like this. It’s about leverage. It’s a game of leverage and life. It’s about f***ing always keeping the upper hand. It’s not just here. It’s everywhere. And if you let these motherf****ers think they have this leverage, it’s only going to grow above you. It’s just people understanding their worth.”

However, Fighter’s healthcare has been a topic of debate in the recent times. Guys like Tony Ferguson and Jake Paul have openly criticized the current system.

Luke advocated year round insurance and healthcare for fighters as they are constantly risking their lives entering that cage. He said “Things should be easier. The insurance should be year-round. There should be real health. The giant is growing and if there’s one thing that should be paramount, it should be our fighters’ health. All these things get played and then it’s like, we should have f***ing health in every facet, so we don’t have to worry about sh*t. Our lives and our bodies are on the line every f***ing time we step into that cage. If we’re not f***ing protected, it’s like f***. Come on. Wake up”

The person who soon joined Luke Rockhold in this was UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou. He is a guy who has openly addressed all the issues he had with both UFC and UFC Boss Dana White.

He took on twitter to share his views following the ground breaking burst out from Luke Rockhold and wrote “Listening to Luke’s interview was very pertinent. A lot of things that nobody is talking about it and the company just rolls with it. Fighters are ripped off with Sponsorship. It’s a huge source of revenue for us but the company keeps exploiting that for their own benefit.”

Ngannou didn’t stop here and tweeted “I understand that the sport needs to look good with uniforms but we should at least have a right for a minimum of 2 approved sponsors for in the octagon.”

He even addressed how he lost a million dollar sponsorship because of UFC in on of his tweet stating “Last year I lost a deal of over a million dollars from a crypto exchange because the partnership with CRYPTO .COM What do I got from it ?”

Although, Fighter’s pay and healthcare definitely need to be taken care of as these are the people risking their lives. However Dana White believes they are paying the fighters good. They reap what they sow.
