Makhachev is adamant that there was no disagreement about the result, so this hasn’t set well with him.

Insidesport

Makhachev was impressed by Volkanovski after the fight because he attempted to become just the sixth fighter in UFC history to simultaneously hold two championships by moving up a weight class. The battle was intense and tough, and Volkanovski never gave up.

Despite knowing how skilled Volkanovski is, Makhachev agreed to the rematch without giving it even ten minutes of thought. During the final round of sparring, Oliveira had a serious cut above his eye and was forced to stop. Volkanovski accepted the UFC’s offer to compete for the title right away.
