The UFC welterweight standings presently place Geoff Neal and Ian Garry at #8 and #13, respectively. The UFC 292: Sterling vs. O’Malley matchup was to be the first encounter between the two competitors. Machado, Ian Garry entered the battle on a five-fight winning streak while Neal had lost three of his previous five bouts.

Fans Get Disappointed As UFC 292 Geoff Neal vs Ian Garry Gets Cancelled
On the main card of the Aug. 19 event, which takes place at TD Garden in Boston and airs on pay-per-view after prelims on ESPN and ESPN+, Neal (15-5 MMA, 7-3 UFC) and Garry (12-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) were scheduled to square off.
Garry, 25, recently knocked out Daniel Rodriguez in the first round of UFC on ABC 4 in May. He’s 2-0 in the octagon so far this year and has won three of his five UFC fights via knockout.
MMA Orbit posted the update on their Twitter handle, which caused the fans to comment “Nooo” in dismay.
The Irishman hinted at Neil Magny as a potential substitute opponent in his reaction video and stated that he intended to stay on the UFC 292 card. Nevertheless, nothing has been verified as of yet.
The Fight of the Night at UFC 285 in March saw Neal, 32, lose by submission to Shavkat Rakhmonov. Neal was looking to bounce back. Prior to the fight, he failed to make weight for the first time in his career, ending a string of victories over Vicente Luque and Santiago Ponzinibbio.
