The 38-year-old Masvidal announced potential retirement plans during the UFC Countdown broadcast leading up to his Burns fight.

Masvidal has been in the industry for about twenty years. Although he didn’t start fighting professionally until 2003, he was a regular in the Legendary Kimbo Slice Home Brawls. Before signing with the UFC in 2013, he competed in the AFC, Bodog, Strikeforce, and Bellator.
