Nominees of MVP:
1) Shweta Sehrawat (India) – 231 runs at an average of 115.50
Sehrawat has impressed most during India’s run to the semi-finals. Sehrawat has the second most runs at ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup and boasts an imposing average greater than 100 because she has been dismissed twice so far in the event. The 18-year-old scored a half-century in a victory over the UAE and smashed an unbeaten 92* against hosts South Africa.
2) Grace Scrivens (England) – 269 runs at an average of 53.80, six wickets at an average of 7.16
England’s skipper has been a model of consistency with the bat at this event and is a major reason why England is yet to taste defeat. Scrivens has made more runs than any other player at the tournament. The left-handed batter’s 93 against Ireland in Potchefstroom is the highest individual score made so far. Scrivens also claimed the outstanding figures of 4/2 with her more than useful off-spin against Zimbabwe.

3) Shorna Akter (Bangladesh) – 153 runs at an average of 51, one wicket
The Bangladesh all-rounder’s highest score came when she managed an unbeaten 50* against Sri Lanka. But Akter’s 23* in the first-round group match may have been more influential as Bangladesh upset the highly-favoured Australia line-up. The powerful right-hander also tied for the most sixes hit at the event. She also chipped in with the ball, claiming a valuable wicket against the UAE while keeping the scoring rate down with her decent leg-spin.
The other two nominees for the MVP are South Africa’s Madison Landsman and Australia’s Milly Illingworth. Madison has scored 91 runs at an average of 18.20 and took six wickets at an average of 9.5. She is one of South Africa’s best fielders and has been seen saving many runs in the field throughout the Proteas’ matches. On the other hand, Milly scalped three wickets at an average of 20 and an economy rate of 5.00. The explosive right-arm quick is Australia’s enforcer with the ball.
