The official twitter handle of  BCCI Women posted images from Mithali Raj sharing ‘Words of Wisdom’ with the U19 girls.

The caption read ” Look, who is here! Ahead of the inaugural #U19T20WorldCup match against South Africa tomorrow, the legendary
@M_Raj03 spends time and interacts with the team”. Raj is in South Africa as the ambassador for U19 Women T20 WC.

The pep talk from a player of Mithali Raj’s caliber will certainly come as a huge boost for the U19 players . The likes of Shafali Verma and Richa Ghosh had the opportunity to share the Indian dressing room with the legendary player. In build up to the opening match, India Women U19 team played two warm up fixtures.

The first warmup game was against Australia Women U19 team. India Women got the better of their opponents in a low-scoring clash. However in the next game against Bangladesh they suffered defeat. India lost the match by three runs.

U19 Women T20 WC 2023: Everything you need to know about the tournament

The inaugural edition of the U19 Women T20 WC 2023 will kick start from January 14. There will be 16 teams taking part in the inaugural edition which include 11 full ICC members and 5 associate countries. Teams will be playing in total of 41 matches.  Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, and Zimbabwe are the 11 full fledged ICC nations. UAE, Rwanda, Scotland, USA and Indonesia are the five associate nations.
