Pokimane ‘child-snatching’ joke: There has been a slight drama over Pokimane in the past couple of days. As one of the top streamers, a lot of fans come on her streams to watch her play games and talk about various stuff. In one of her past livestreams, Pokimane talked about how she realizes she is in her twenties because she finds little babies very cute. She jokingly commented that whenever she goes outside and finds little kids looking at her, she gets an urge to swoop them up and run when their parents are not looking. It was her way of describing how a baby’s cuteness awoke caring feelings inside her.
Pokimane almost got hit by a Twitch ban for saying racist remarks on stream
Pokimane ‘child-snatching’ joke But this comment/joke did not sit well with many of her online viewers. They pointed out that it was a terrible thing to say about kids. Here are some of the reactions of the people who objected to this.

I…it would have been decent if it wasn’t for the last part. I understand that she finds babies cute but it’s…a little weird to think about stealing them

As more people started talking about it, many people came out in her defense. They talked about how it was just an exaggeration on her part about the cuteness of little kids. There was no chance of her kidnapping or insinuating any such behavior. She only expressed her love for young children as a woman.
This may come as a surprise to you guys but when people say shit like “I’m gonna eat you up” to a kid they don’t actually mean they wanna vore him. Same here with the kidnapping.

Lol. Why is everyone losing their minds at this? She just said little kids are cute, literally every woman I’ve between 20 and 70 years of age has said something like this at some point. Go outside.

Her intent -> I think small children are adorable!
What it’s being read as: I think small children are HOT and I’m going to steal them

People need to get tf off the internet. Saying “I’m gonna eat you up” to a child is not vore lmaooo it’s pretty normal for older people to say that. Why is she getting so much hate for loving that a child is cute? People need to stop finding excuses to hate people smh

This fiasco shows that misinterpretation and cancel culture has become a norm on Twitter these days. Many celebrities and popular people are facing backlash online from fans and getting canceled because of small things. The same statements or actions when done by a regular person is accepted as normal thing. This also happened with Mr.Beast a few weeks back. Various people from the online Twitter community tried to cancel him when he conducted his own version of Squid Game. They argued that money spent on such a stupid endeavor could have been used for philanthropy. At that time, his fans came to support him and express that it was his way of generating content from a trending idea, as he works as a content creator.
