No one anticipated this move 48 hours ago, but Bayern Munich has signed Manchester City fullback Joao Cancelo on a season-long loan. The 28-year-old was a key player in Pep Guardiola’s team winning the Premier League the last two seasons, but he has fallen out of favour and will transfer to Germany with the option to sign a permanent contract for 70 million euros (£61.5 million) in the summer. The Portuguese defender, who cost City £60 million when he transferred from Juventus in 2019, has logged the most defensive minutes for the team this year.
According to reports, Chelsea and Benfica have finally come to terms about the acquisition of Enzo Fernandez. The Argentine will sign an eight-and-a-half-year contract and pay the club a British record £105 million to join. It was the transfer tale that took the longest to resolve during the January transfer window, and it appears to have done so now. The Telegraph claims that in the closing hour of the window, the Blues reached an agreement with Benfica for Fernandez.

The arrival of Marcel Sabitzer in England precedes his loan transfer to Manchester United. After learning that Christian Eriksen will be out until April due to injury, it was earlier today claimed that Erik ten Hag had made the Bayern Munich midfielder a late target.
The Austrian international is presently finalising the deal at Carrington after flying to England to seal his move to Old Trafford. According to reports, United wants to sign Sabitzer on a loan; a purchase option is not present. United is still interested in Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong and is aware that if Sabitzer were to come on for the long term, it may lessen their desire to pursue the Holland international this summer.
Pedro Porro finally made the much-anticipated transfer from Sporting to Tottenham, coming on loan before the €45 million deal is finalised in the summer. Since the beginning of January, there have been back-and-forth negotiations. The negotiations have not been easy because of the structure of the deal and Spurs’ reluctance to pay upfront as well as how to account for solidarity payments to Porro’s former teams.
On Monday night, a solution was found, allowing Porro to go to London and have his physical. On July 1, Spurs must pay Sporting the sum of money due; Porro’s contract’s buyout clause was worth €45 million. It is believed that near the end of January, the clause became dormant.

After admitting they couldn’t persuade Brighton to let go of Moisés Caicedo, Arsenal agreed to pay £12 million for Chelsea midfielder Jorginho. After losing Mohamed Elneny to a knee injury, the Premier League’s top team tried to bolster their midfield and pushed for Jorginho after failing in two Caicedo bids. Just than three hours before the deadline, the Italy international, whose contract was set to expire at the end of the season, was officially announced as an Arsenal player after swift negotiations with Chelsea. The fee is a guaranteed £10 million with further payments.
According to ESPN’s sources, Hakim Ziyech of Chelsea has agreed to join Paris Saint-Germain on a season-long loan. There is no provision in the loan agreement for a summertime option to make the change permanent. The 29-year-old has only made four Premier League starts thus far, and after Chelsea brought in a number of attacking players in January, he was expected to fall even further down the pecking order.

Keylor Navas is about to sign with Nottingham Forest in the Premier League. After extensive discussions, the Costa Rican international was able to persuade his current club PSG to allow him to transfer to Nottingham, according to L’Équipe in France. Navas apparently gave his consent in principle to join the Premier League team, but at the time of writing, it was still unknown whether the move would be permanent or temporary.

Navas played for Real Madrid and won the Champions League three times before joining PSG, the French champions. However, Gianluigi Donnarumma, who was elevated to the top spot by head coach Christophe Galtier, has since displaced him in the lineup.
