Tottenham Hotspur Transfer: Pedro Porro Transfer: Pedro Porro, the Sporting defender who is Tottenham’s top target for January, is getting closer. Since the beginning of the month, Porro’s buyout clause has been the subject of back-and-forth negotiations, with Sporting determined to recover the full €45 million (£39.7 million). Spurs have attempted to negotiate a deal with a sell-on clause that would result in them paying less upfront. Follow Premier League Transfer Updates on InsideSport.IN.

On Wednesday morning, the Premier League team made an offer for Porro, but it was rejected. As hope for a deal to be reached grows, additional talks are planned for later in the day. Sporting does not desire any players to be traded. Porro is the answer, according to Antonio Conte, who is eager to improve his alternatives on the right flank. The 23-year-old has succeeded since moving to Sporting from Manchester City in 2020, initially on loan before the Portuguese club finalised the €8.5 million deal last summer.
In an effort to cut their 40% sell-on price for Marcus Edwards, a former academy graduate who is currently playing for the Primera Liga club, Spurs offered Sporting players in return for Porro. Despite the back and forth, there is now optimism that the 23-year-old Spaniard will join Spurs in January as their second acquisition after yesterday’s loan signing of Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma.
