Tilak Varma opened up about his strong bond with Samaira and revealed that he had made a promise to dedicate his celebration to her whenever he achieves a maiden century or a fifty.

In a heartwarming gesture, Tilak Varma dedicated his maiden T20I half-century to Rohit Sharma’s daughter, Samaira. The young batter scored an impressive 51 runs off 41 balls, leading India’s batting charge. He opened up about his strong bond with Samaira and revealed that he had made a promise to dedicate his celebration to her whenever he achieves a maiden century or a fifty. True to his commitment, Varma commemorated his achievement by cherishing the special bond he shares with Sharma’s daughter.

Despite Tilak Varma’s brilliant knock, India faced a challenging situation in the second T20I against West Indies, with the latter securing a thrilling two-wicket victory. Initially, the West Indies seemed to be on track for an easy win, but a sudden collapse, losing four wickets in just three runs, put them in a tough spot. India had a chance to turn the game in their favor at that point.

However, West Indies showed remarkable resilience, thanks to an unbroken ninth-wicket partnership of 26 runs between Akeal Hosein and Alzarri Joseph. Both players played sensibly and made valuable contributions with the ball as well, restricting India to a modest total of 152 runs.

Nicholas Pooran was the standout performer for West Indies, playing an explosive innings of 67 runs off just 40 balls. His aggressive batting kept the Indian bowlers under pressure throughout the chase. West Indies’ bowlers also deserve credit for their disciplined and varied bowling, particularly on a pitch that favored the spinners.

After Pooran’s dismissal, there was a brief scare for West Indies, but Hosein and Joseph remained calm and guided their team to a thrilling victory with seven balls to spare. This win marked West Indies’ consecutive victories for the first time since 2016, bringing delight to their fans and setting the stage for an exciting must-win third T20I for India.
