Mason Mount Transfer: After the recent reports, the chances of Mason Mount staying at Stamford Bridge are getting slimmer and slimmer. Premier League club, Chelsea are in no race to extend Mount’s contract and are willing to sell him this summer before his contract ends. Manchester United are the front-runners to secure the services of Englishmen as the club has reached an agreement with the player. Thiago Silva joined Chelsea in 2020 and has been a regular starter since then along with Mason Mount. Both the players share a close bond with each other, which was seen on many occasions on the pitch. The comments clearly state that Sliva isn’t happy with Mount’s departure.

Mason Mount rose to fame under Frank Lampard in 2019 after his first breakthrough season. He has become an influential figure since then and Chelsea fans even saw him as the next Lampard. However, things have now changed between the club and Mount as he might have played his last game for Chelsea.
Mount has appeared in more than 50 games three times out of four seasons in all competitions. This season, he played 35 games scoring 3 goals and assisting twice.
Mount’s contract ends next season, but Chelsea wants to sell him in this summer, to avoid a free departure. Mount’s contract pays him around £85,000 per week, which makes him one of the lowest-paid players. Considering his role in the team, Mount believes he deserves to be paid around ₤250,000 per week, which Chelsea isn’t willing to offer. It is not that Chelsea are not paying huge salary to anyone and Mount is the first one to ask.

The contract situation attracted multiple Premier League clubs to make the signing of Mason Mount.
