Above, you can see the squads as they currently stand. There are plenty of gaps at each of the salary bands! Every player has a reserve price, and they cannot be bought for any less than that price. But they could go for more.

The Hundred Draft LIVE: After snubbing IPL 2022 Auctions, Chris Gayle says YES to The Hundred, follow 2nd season DRAFT LIVE

How teams are selected for The Hundred?

Each team comprises a squad of 15 players. It includes 14 drafted players and one England red-ball contracted player. Teams are allowed a maximum of three foreign players.

How teams will be selected for The Hundred 2022?

Stage 1: England player allocation and player retention window

Stage 2: The Hundred Draft 2022

  • There are 20 England men’s centrally contracted players. Of these, four could be retained as domestic players. These are Moeen Ali, Eoin Morgan, Adil Rashid and Jason Roy.
  • The remaining players can then be retained by their teams. No team may retain more than two England contracted players.
  • Meanwhile, the retention window ran until the middle of February.
  • Men’s squads could retain up to 10 players. Each team could retain any domestic or overseas player who was contracted to the side in 2021.
  • All sides must leave one of their £30,000 slots open for the Vitality Wildcard Draft.

The Hundred Draft selections will be announced on April 5, Tuesday. The draw order is as follows:

  1. London Spirit
  2. Welsh Fire
  3. Manchester Originals
  4. Northern Superchargers
  5. Oval Invincibles
  6. Trent Rockets
  7. Birmingham Phoenix
  8. Southern Brave

Every player who enters the Draft pool will have a reserve price. They cannot be bought for less than this. But if a team wants to splash the cash and spend more than a player’s reserve price on him, they can.

What will happen after The Hundred Draft?

Each team will make two more picks. One of these is the Vitality Wildcard which allows teams to pick one additional player nearer to the start of The Hundred 2022. The other is the Overseas Wildcard which allows teams to select an additional overseas player closer to the competition. Both of these will be announced in June.

How are the women’s teams picked?

  • Two-stage process
  • All players can roll-over their contracts
  • Players not rolling-over contracts selected in an open-market system
