“The Fight Is Bigger Than The Title” Francis Ngannou Doesn’t Want To Give Up On A Fight With Jon Jones

Francis Ngannou reiterated that the bout would need to take place in the PFL and that he is confident that the PFL would agree to host it.

Francis Ngannou, a former heavyweight champion of the UFC, is by no means settling down due to the fact that his contract with the organisation has not been renewed. Now he is hoping to find a way to face Jon Jones, the current UFC heavyweight champion.

He continues by saying that he previously desired that battle, but his wish was denied. Due to the dangerous Frenchman’s departure from the UFC to compete for the PFL, things will now be a little more challenging. On a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Ngannou said, “It’s feasible, but they have to go to the PFL immediately.

But now that the decision is in the hands of the UFC, even if the Frenchman has repeatedly stated that he does not desire a title battle, the very fact that he would defeat Jon Jones would make him eligible for the title. While we must concur with the Frenchman that it would be an exciting match and that he possesses lethal weapons, let’s keep in mind that opponents have been stepping forward for years vowing to beat the current UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

“I wouldn’t care if it was a fight without a title. In my mind, I don’t need a UFC title. That fight is bigger than a title. The fight is bigger than a title. Deep inside me, I still have a little bit of hope, even though I know it’s going to be hard. But, you never know”.
