The Ashes 2021 – Butler, Bairstow on Most Uncomfortbale Flight: England cricketers including Johny Bairstow, Jos Butler, Chris Woakes on Monday had to go through ‘most unbearable’ journey from Dubai to Queensland to play The Ashes. Not that the flight gave them any troubles – but it was the co-passengers who made the journey ‘unbearable’ – Check why?
Actually Butler & Co were sharing charter flight with Australia’s World Cup winning squad members. During the entire journey, Aussie squad members kept celebrating – while England team members were left sulking according to reports.
Before the flight took off, former England captain Mike Artherton & current England squad member Mark Wood had predicted that this journey for England cricketers will be unbearable.
“There is one bunch of cricketers who won’t be enjoying this, watching on, and that’s England’s Ashes players, This will be an interesting plane journey.” said Artherton
Wood echoed the views while speaking to BBC. It’s going to be unbearable,”

“You can look them in the eye and say congratulations to them but when you are about to head off to an Ashes series against them, the last thing you want is them feeling confident and waving a trophy around in your face before you’ve even got there.”
The Ashes 2021: Jos Butler, Bairstow & other England cricketer reaches Australia on ‘most unbearable & uncomfortable flight’, check what happened?
Why both teams had to share a flight? England & Australian cricketers had to share the flight to comply with the Covid-19 protocols. The rivals may have caught separate flights if one side had been eliminated before the semi-finals.
But as both teams made it to the Semifinals – Cricket Australia (CA) & England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) decided to hire a shared charter flight for the players so that BUBBLE to BUBBLE transfer can be arranged.
That is the reason, members of England’s vanquished World Cup side were forced to share a long-haul flight with Australia’s victorious squad to play in the Ashes.
The flight has landed in Brisbane this morning with Australian cricket team & England’s all-format players Buttler, Jonny Bairstow, Dawid Malan, Chris Woakes and Mark Wood on board.
