Team India Coach: Shastri backs Dravid says You need luck going your away to win big tournaments

India won the last ICC tournament in 2013 on lack of trophies, the former coach pointed out that India won two Asia Cups twice under his tenure in 2016, and 2018, but no one remembers that. Shastri further opined that luck plays a huge role in winning big tournaments, and it’s important to put the best foot forward.

“In our country, public memory is short. If you have to win, you have to win. During my tenure, we won two Asia Cups, but no one remembers. Has anyone mentioned Asia Cup? We’ve won it twice. And no one talks about it. But when we lose in Asia Cup, then the tournament comes into the picture. Why? That’s why I’m saying, the effort should always be there,” Shastri said.
