The team from Africa won by five wickets in last Group B clash. Ireland and Zimbabwe have joined Sri Lanka and Netherlands from Group A in Super 12. Sri Lanka beat Netherlands by 16 runs to seal the spot. However, with UAE edging past Namibia with 7-run victory, in Group A match later in the day, Netherlands sealed their place.

SCO vs ZIM Highlights: Zimbabwe win by 5 wickets: Zimbabwe have booked their spot in Super 12 after missing out entirely in last T20 WC. Sikandar Raza (40 off 23) and Craig Evine (58 off 54) starred with brilliant knocks to chase down 133 run target with 1.3 overs to spare. This is Zimbabwe’s first appearance in Super 12.
NAM vs UAE Highlights: UAE win by 7 runs: United Arab Emirates have knocked Namibia out of T20 World Cup with a 7-run win. But it went down to the wire as David Wiese slammed 36-ball 55 to keep Namibia’s hopes alive. However, they survived Wiese scare with brilliant bowling in the last two overs to register a maiden victory in T20 World Cup. With UAE’s win, SriLanka and Netherlands have now qualified for Super 12 stage. Both UAE and Namibia are eliminated.
SL vs NED Highlights: SriLanka win by 16 runs – Max O’Dowd’s 71 went in vain as SriLanka clinched a 16-run win over the Netherlands in a do-or-die match at Geelong. Mendis smashed 79 to set up the Lankan victory who sealed a place in the Super 12 stage, on the back of a superior net run rate. The Dutch meanwhile will have to wait on the Namibia vs UAE result to know of their fate in the T20 World Cup.
WI vs ZIM Highlights: Two-time champions West Indies have avoided a major embarrassment of first-round exit. With a 31-run win over Zimbabwe, they are now still alive in Group B for a Super 12 spot. After posting 153/7, Alzarri Joseph (4/16) and Jason Holder (3/12) starred with the ball to bundle out Zimbabwe for 122. The win helped West Indies move to 3rd spot.
SCO vs IRE Highlights: An unbeaten 119-run partnership between Curtis Campher and George Dockrell kept Ireland alive in their chase for a Super 12 berth with a stunning 6-wicket win over Scotland. Chasing 177, Ireland were in a spot of bother at 61/4, but Campher scored a fine 72 to seal the chase with an over to spare.
SL vs UAE Highlights: A spirited display from Sri Lanka saw the Asia Cup 2022 Champions remain in contention to fight for a spot in the Super 12. Batting first Sri Lanka was off to a great start before Karthik Meriyappan ran through the Lankan middle order with a stunning hattrick. Sri Lanka managed to score a respectable 152 after 20 overs. In reply, the UAE were bowled out after scoring 73 runs, courtesy of a stunning bowling display from Hasaranga and Co. With this victory, Sri Lanka will AIM to defeat the Netherlands in their upcoming encounter.

Eight teams who did not automatically qualify for the Super 12s (Sri Lanka, West Indies, Namibia, Netherlands, UAE, Scotland, Ireland, and Zimbabwe) will compete in Round 1, divided into two groups of four. Prior to the top two teams from each group advancing to the Super 12, the other teams in Round 1 will be eliminated. Each team in Round 1 will play the other once in their group. Kardinia Park in Geelong and Blundstone Arena in Hobart will host all of the games in this round.
Group A: Namibia, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates
Group B: Ireland, Scotland, West Indies, Zimbabwe
The four Round 1 qualifiers will join the eight teams who had received automatic qualification for the Super 12s from the 2021 edition held in the UAE in November of last year. The top two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals after this stage, during which each team plays the other teams in their group once.
