Jasprit Bumrah will be a big miss in the upcoming Asia Cup as Rohit Sharma and Co open their campaign with the India vs Pakistan clash on August 28. Bumrah has been out of action since the India tour of England, nursing a potentially serious back injury.
One of the premier fast bowlers around the globe, Bumrah’s chance of playing the T20 World Cup looked slim after news of his injury broke out. However, the 28-year-old is leaving no stone unturned to make a return to the team.

In a video uploaded on social media, Bumrah went through some elaborate drills at the NCA in a bid to regain his fitness. The Indian pacer was seen sprinting and jumping over hurdles in a specially crafted drill for the Mumbai Indians star.

- Both Bumrah and Harshal are pivotal players in India’s T20 WC squad.
- While the MI pacer is the designated death overs specialist, the RCB bowler is superb in the middle overs with his deceptive variations.
- Harshal has played 17 T20Is and has taken 23 wickets. In a short span of time, the right-arm pacer has gone to become a permanent member of the T20 format.
- Bumrah is India’s most experienced T20 bowler and is a genuine match winner.
- He is also economical and gives runs below 8 runs per over.
- India are due to announce the T20 World Cup squad on September 15 and the BCCI selectors would be hoping the two pacers be fit in time.

In another fresh positive, Harshal Patel also has taken baby steps towards his recovery. Also rehabilitating at the NCA, Harshal has started work on the field. However, it is important to note that both are yet to hit the nets and their training will be monitored by the selection committee closely. India will name their squad for the tournament on September 15, and both Harshal and Bumrah have little over three weeks to get back to their best shape.
