T20 World Cup 2022: Winless Pakistan will not only have their task cut out to remain in the hunt for the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-finals berth. Not only will Babar Azam and Co have to win their reaming games, but will also have to rely on the results of the Sunday Blockbusters. Last year’s semi-finalists will take on the Netherlands in the Super 12 Group 2 match on Sunday while Bangladesh will face Zimbabwe and India take on South Africa from their group in the triple-header. Pakistan will be in a do-or-die situation in their last three Super 12 Group 2 stage matches after losing two games on the trot. This means that the lacklustre Pakistan side will have to clinch victory against the Netherlands, heavyweights South Africa and the unpredictable Bangladesh side to remain in contention to qualify in the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-finals.

How will other teams’ results affect Pakistan? – However, as Pakistan stand on a sticky wicket, winning all their remaining Super 12 Group stage games might not be enough to ensure a qualification berth. The 2009 Champions will qualify for the T20 World Cup semi-finals only if India beat South Africa, India defeat Zimbabwe and Bangladesh overcome Zimbabwe in the Super 12 Group 2 clashes.

How has Pakistan fared in T20 World Cup 2022? – While premier Pakistan openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have looked out of touch in the first-two Super 12 Group 2 matches, Shan Masood has looked at his resilient best to carry the burden of his side.

Haris Rauf, meanwhile, has been the prime bowler for Pakistan as he has picked up three wickets from the two games while new-ball bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah have struggled to get amongst the wickets.
