T20 World Cup 2022: Jasprit Bumrah Injury: The incoming administrators at the BCCI have a big mess to solve and that is injury. As per BCCI’s internal report, NCA medical team has had to deal with major to minor injuries of 23 out of 28 centrally contracted cricketers over the last 12 months alone. While Jasprit Bumrah is the biggest name of late to be ruled out of T20 World Cup with injury, Deepak Chahar occupied major chunk of NCA’s resources. Virat Kohli was the only major name who didn’t pay NCA a visit. Concerned with the injury crisis, BCCI is all set to bring in a drastic change in NCA’s sports medicine department. “Yes, there will be a major shift in approach. We have had too many injuries and it’s a concern. Having injuries is part and parcel of a player but the rehab time should be less. Nitin Patel was sent to NCA for a reason. We will bring in a major change with Nitin overseeing everything in the next two years,” a senior BCCI official said.
