The tour was launched with great pomp, as fans were treated to a BIG surprise in Melbourne. The hallowed MCG turf was relocated to central Melbourne, Australia men’s captain Aaron Finch, women’s superstars Georgia Wareham and Tayla Vlaeminck, Pakistan great Waqar Younis, former South Africa pacer Morne Morkel, and legendary all-rounder Shane Watson were some of the names in attendance.

Fans in Melbourne were buzzing with excitement, as they got an up close and personal glimpse of the Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy, while also getting a chance to interact with some of the biggest names in the cricketing world. The 2022 edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy Tour, was well and truly underway with a bang!

Throughout the journey in Australia, the Trophy Tour paid visits to some special locations. From the set of the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, fans at various locations got a chance to be snapped with the Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy. Other memorable visits included a stop in Brisbane, Ipswich Grammar School and Gold Coast.

The visit to the Great Barrier Reef was certainly one to be remembered for ages, as the trophy took a deep dive underwater. The tour was again graced by some serious star power, with Shane Watson, Adam Zampa, Kane Richardson and Erin Holland all turning to the events.

It was now time for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy Tour to travel around the globe, with the first pit-stop being the scenic island nation of Papua New Guinea. The enthusiasm for the game was palpably visible, as the Trophy Tour was greeted with great verve from the fans. Some of the highlights in the country included a trip to Fisherman’s Island, where we were taught how cricket was played, the Island way!

Next up was the European leg of the tour, with the first stop being the Land of a Thousand Lakes – Finland. The scenic locations in the country provided a perfect backdrop for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy, and the tour was made all the better because of the enthusiasm of the fans. Some of the highlights from the trip included a visit to the Helsinki Cathedral, as well as a few stunning lakes. Players from the Finland national cricket team also paid a visit during the tour in their country.

The tour then moved on to Scotland, where it took to the streets of Edinburgh. There was also a stop at Edinburgh Castle, where Scotland star George Munsey turned up to interact with the fans. New Zealand stars Lockie Ferguson, Mitchell Santner and Martin Guptill also had an encounter with the trophy, while contesting a series against Scotland.

The 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy Tour, driven by Nissan, then returned Down Under, with a visit lined up for a couple of historic locations. First up, was a visit to Uluru, a landmark moment with a trip to the iconic Red Rock. Shane Watson and Scott Boland were present in one of the recognizable natural landmarks in Australia. There was also a special visit paid to the Field of Light.

The caravan then moved to the scenic and jaw-dropping location of the Litchfield National Park, where a few stunning scenes were witnessed. The Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy was there for all to see in the background of some beautiful waterfalls, with nature in all its glory. This capped an end to a memorable visit to the Northern Territory for the 2022 edition of the Trophy Tour.
