T20 WC 2022 LIVE: Teams have started arriving in Australia for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Teams from Namibia, Afghanistan, and Ireland have landed Down Under as of the latest. The showpiece event will start on October 16. A total of 16 teams are part of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. 8 teams will play the qualifier round from October 16. Namibia arrived in Melbourne on September 29. While teams from Afghanistan and Ireland arrived Down Under on September 30.

Namibia went into the Super 12s of 2021 competition in the United Arab Emirates. That’s why Gerhard Erasmus will again captain the African team for the forthcoming T20 World Cup. Along with left-arm seamer Ruben Trumpelmann, who was hired by Desert Vipers for the upcoming International League T20 in the UAE, T20 globetrotter David Wiese is also a member of the 16-member squad.

Andrew Balbirnie will captain the Ireland squad for the showpiece event. They have dropped offspinner Andy McBrine from their T20 World Cup squad, and brought in Simi Singh in place of him.

Afghanistan have already made it to the main round of the T20 World Cup, where they are grouped alongside hosts Australia, England, New Zealand and two yet-to-be-determined qualifiers.

West Indies have also reached Australia. But they are coming in different matches. Their first contingent of players have landed in Australia.

ICC T20 WC 2022 LIVE

Australia will host the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which will run from October 16 to November 13, 2022. The ICC finalised the tournament schedule on January 21, 2022. This is the 8th edition of showpiece. Australia, who are hosting the competition, are this year’s defending champions.

International Cricket Council (ICC) have announced that the champions will receive an incredible USD 1.6 million.
