Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Tamil Nadu and Gujarat in quarterfinals – Defending champions Tamil Nadu and Two-time champion Gujarat along with Rajasthan, Hyderabad and Bengal have directly qualified for the quarterfinals of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. However, domestic powerhouse Karnataka apart from Ruturaj Gaikwad-led Maharashtra will have to go through the pre-quarters round. Follow live updates of SMAT 2021 on InsideSport. 

The qualification for the knockout stage of SMAT 2021 is based on the top two teams from each Elite Group and a top team from Plate Group. The teams that finished on the top from five Elite Groups have qualified directly for the quarterfinals. Those teams that finished second will play the pre-quarterfinals round. The winners of the pre-quarterfinals will play the quarterfinals, which start on November 18. However, top team from Plate Group will have to play pre-quarterfinals in order to qualify for quarterfinals of SMAT 2021.

Which teams qualified for the knockout stage? .

In quarterfinals (First place finished in group stage): 

  • Tamil Nadu (Elite Group A)
  • Bengal (Elite Group B)
  • Rajasthan (Elite Group C)
  • Gujarat (Elite Group D)
  • Hyderabad (Elite Group E).

In pre-quarterfinals (Second place finished in group stage): 

  • Maharashtra (Elite Group A)
  • Karnataka (Elite Group B)
  • Himachal Pradesh (Elite Group C)
  • Kerala (Elite Group D)
  • Saurashtra (Elite Group E)
  • Vidarbha (Plate Group)

Final – Winner of Semi-Final 1 vs Winner of Semi-Final 2 – 12:00 pm

Where will knockout matches take place? 

All the knockout matches of SMAT 2021, including Semifinals and Final, in Delhi. Arun Jaitley Stadium will host two Pre-Quarterfinals, two Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Final, while Palam A Stadium will only two Pre-Quarterfinals and two Quarterfinals.

Where can I watch the knockout matches of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy? 

The Star Sports Network will only live telecast from the quarterfinals. Disney+Hotstar will only live stream selected pre-quarterfinal matches on the OTT platform.
