Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Check out all the records – Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy is a prestigious T20 domestic tournament and several records were shattered during the last 17 years. The top 30 teams have been divided into five Elite Groups of six while the other eight teams will play in the Plate Group. The top two teams from each Elite Group will advance to the knockout stage, starting with the pre-quarterfinal round.

Most titles: Tamil Nadu, Baroda, Gujarat and Karnataka jointly hold the record of most titles in the T20 domestic tournament. Each of the four teams have won two titles, Tamil Nadu in 2007 and 2021, Baroda in 2012 and 2014, Gujarat in 2013 and 2015 and Karnataka in 2019 and 2020. Karnataka is the only team to achieve the feat of winning two consecutive titles in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Highest run-scorer: Kedar Devdhar is currently the highest run-scorer in the history of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Baroda wicket-keeper has aggregated 2012 runs, including a century and 11 half-centuries, from 71 matches so far. Kedar Devdhar is the only batsman to score a total of 2000 runs in the history of the T20 domestic tournament. Behind him is Harpreet Singh who has aggregated 1986 runs from 67 matches in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Highest wicket-taker: Piyush Chawla is currently the highest wicket-taker in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Former Indian bowler has scalped a total of 92 wickets from 69 matches so far. Piyush Chawla has one 4 wicket haul and fourteen 3 wickets haul under his belt. The 32-year-old is the bowler to pick over 90 wickets in T20 domestic cricket history. He represents Gujarat in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Highest individual score: Shreyas Iyer has the highest individual score in the history of the tournament. India and Mumbai batsman had scored 147 from off 55 balls against Sikkim in Group C in the 2019/2020 season. His brilliant knock had helped the Mumbai team to post a huge total of 258 on the board. Puneet Bisht of Meghalaya is second to Shreyas Iyer, scoring 146 runs off 51 balls against Mizoram.

Highest run-scorer in a season: Devdutt Padikkal is currently the highest run-scorer of a season in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy history. Karnataka batsman has aggregated 580 runs, including a century and 5 half-centuries, from 12 matches in the 2019/20 season of the T20 domestic tournament. Devdutt Padikkal was the second batsman after his Karnataka teammate Rohan Kadam to aggregate over 500 runs in a season. The 21-year-old played a crucial role in handing Karnataka second consecutive title in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Highest wicket-taker in a season: Lukman Meriwala holds the record of highest wicket-taker in a season in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Baroda’s medium pacer has picked 21 wickets, including a 5 wicket haul, from 9 matches in 2013/14. Lukman Meriwala is one of the four bowlers in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy to scalp over 20 wickets in a season. Others are Mehul Patel, Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore and Satyajeet Bachhav.

Most centuries by a player: Unmukt Chand holds the record of most centuries in the history of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Former U-19 Indian captain and Delhi batsman had scored three centuries from 49 matches he had played till 2018. Behind him is Manish Pandey, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan who have two centuries. Unmukt Chand also holds the record of most centuries (2) in a season.

Fastest century by a player: Rishabh Pant holds the record of fastest century in the history of T20 domestic tournament. India and Delhi wicketkeeper-batsman had achieved the feat by smashing a century in just 32 balls. Also, he was the fastest Indian batsman to score a century across T20 cricket, including IPL. Behind him is Mohammed Azharuddeen who had scored a century in 37 balls in the 2020/2021 season of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
