Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Kerala beat Himachal – Mohammed Azharuddeen and Sanju Samson’s half centuries have paved way for Kerala to quarterfinals by defeating Himachal Pradesh by 8 wickets in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The crucial partnership between Azharuddeen and Samson have helped Kerala to convincingly chase the target of 146 with three balls to spare. After opting to bowling first, Kerala got an early wicket of Ankush Bains for a duck. Thereafter, they got the wicket of Prashant Chopra, who was dominating in 46-run partnership with Raghav Dhawan for second wicket. Then, Raghav Dhawan find his form and went after Kerala’s bowling attack to score a brilliant 65 off 52 balls. Dhawan’s knock had helped Himachal Pradesh to add 92 runs to the total of 145 runs in the final 10 overs. Kerala’s Sudhesan Midhun picked two wickets, while Basil Thampi, Jalaj Saxena, Sajeevan Akhil and Manukrishnan scalped one wicket each.
Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Kerala beat Himachal Pradesh – While chasing the target of 146, Kerala had a great start to their innings. After losing the wicket of Rohan Kunnummal at 34/1, Mohammed Azharuddeen (60 off 57 balls) and Sanju Samson (52* off 39 balls) dominated the innings with brilliant partnership stand of 98 runs for second wicket. The partnership between Azharuddeen and Samson helped Kerala to pull off the victory. Himachal Pradesh bowlers were unable to stop the duo from scoring runs. Ayush Jamal and Pankaj Jaiswal scalped one wicket each. Skipper Rishi Dhawan conceded most runs without taking a wicket (0/33).
