Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021: Bengal vs Baroda – Baroda’s Krunal Pandya played a captain knock but in vain as his team lost to Bengal by just two runs in Elite Group B in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Baroda were restricted to 144 runs by Bengal bowlers while chasing the moderate target of 147. Baroda didn’t have a good start to SMAT 2021 as they lost their opening match to Services, while Bengal has won two consecutive games so far.
After opting to bowl first, Bengal had a decent start to the innings. In the first overs, they scored a total of 41 runs. However, in the next six overs, Bengal batsmen struggled a bit as they could only add 24 runs and lost four wickets. In the final 11 overs, they accelerated the innings and added 81 runs, totaling 146 runs. Abhisek Das scored 35 runs off 27 balls, while Shahbaz Khan returned with 34 runs off 25 balls. Atit Sheth picked 3 wickets for Baroda.
