“I am delighted and honored that ground in Leicester is being named after me. Leicester is a city with possibly the strongest supporters of the game, especially Indian Cricket, and therefore it is a huge honor indeed,” Gavaskar said to TOI from London.

Sunil Gavaskar Ground: Little Master set to travel to Leicester to unveil his name plaque – The legendary cricketer is now set to travel to Leicester on Saturday to unveil his name plaque at the historic ground. The ground belongs to Bharat Sports and Cricket Club. Already, Gavaskar’s humungous image has been painted on the entire wall of the pavilion.
