Blues skipper Sunil Chhetri becomes the first player to score 50 goals for a single club in the Indian Super League. The milestone goal for Bengaluru FC skipper came in the 21st minute of Bengaluru FC vs East Bengal ISL 2023-24 encounter at Sree Kanteerava Stadium.
In the 21st minute, Sunil Chhetri successfully converted a penalty kick to level the score for the Blues. Mandar made an attempt to steer the ball away from Sunil Chhetri within the penalty area but inadvertently committed a foul against the Indian captain.
Chhetri then confidently placed the ball into the back of the net from the penalty spot. Despite Prabhsukhan Gill’s effort to dive in the proper direction, he couldn’t react quickly enough to stop the fast-paced shot.
