Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Carlos Alcaraz Garfia LIVE streaming in US Open 2021: In the biggest upset of the US Open 2021 so far, 3rd seed Stefanos Tsitsipas was knocked out by Spanish prodigy Carlos Alcaraz Garfia in round three of the year ending Grand Slam. The 18-year-old Spaniard held his nerve and clinched a decisive 6-3, 4-6, 7-6, 0-6, 7-6 win over the Greek ace. He will now face Peter Gojowczyk in the round of 16 on Sunday.

Carlos Alcaraz Garfia became the youngest player to beat a Top-3 opponent at a major since Michael Chang, 17, defeated World No. 1 Ivan Lendl and World No. 3 Stefan Edberg at Roland Garros in 1989. The World No. 55 is also the youngest player to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam since 17-year-old Andrei Medvedev at 1992 Roland Garros.
Carlos Alcaraz captured his maiden tour-level title in Umag and reached the last four in Winston-Salem. He kept Stefanos Tsitsipas at bay, who turned villain at this year’s U.S. Open over his lengthy well-timed trips to the washroom that have been criticized as strategic delay tactics. The 23-year-old threw everything he had in a five-set bout, but it was the 18-year-old Spaniard who held his nerve and delivered the suckler punch for a win. Tsitsipas was aiming to reach the fourth round at the US Open for the first time in his fourth appearance in New York, but his wait will continue after Alcaraz’s heroics on Saturday.
