SRH beat GT Highlights – IPL 2022: Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma got off to a sedate start scoring just 11 in the first four overs, before the duo opened up with a flurry of boundaries to end the powerplay at 42/0. Abhishek continued his fine form from the last game and took the attack to Gujarat before ex-SRH superstar Rashid Khan struck to send him packing for 42.
Williamson continued to anchor the innings and was joined by Rahul Tripathi, who played a breezy cameo before retiring hurt after struggling with cramps. Nicholas Pooran came in and went from the ball go and helped SRH closer to their target, with Williamson also going past his fifty. Hardik Pandya then dismissed Williamson to spring up another twist, but it wasn’t enough as Pooran and Markram expertly dealt with the chase to bag their second successive win.

Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad had their bowlers to thank after they struck thrice in the first 10 overs to keep Gujarat Titans on the back foot. Hardik Pandya anchored the innings but didn’t find much support until a streaky Abhinav Manohar chipped in with a quick-fire 35. Hardik eventually reached his half-century, but some fine death bowling from Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan meant that Gujarat could only muster 162 in their 20 overs, which did not prove to be enough in the end.
