Why Messi abandoned his beloved dog “Hulk”

Footballer Lionel Messi owns two pet dogs. But, he had to leave his first pet Hulk behind in Barcelona while they moved to Miami.

Dogs are everyone’s best friend and there is no doubt about it. They understand you; they help you and what not. You get a lot of support from them. One of world’s great footballers Lionel Messi also owns a dog and his name is Hulk. But somehow, he had to leave him behind and that broke everyone’s heart.

Hulk is of Dogue De Bordeaux breed and that is one of the costliest breeds. While shifting to Miami, Messi had to abandon his pet and left him in Barcelona. It was due to health issues. The Dogue De Bordeaux breed are very huge and they face health problems like hip dysplasia and heart problems.

In one of his interviews, Lionel Messi talked about Hulk and said that they left their 7-year-old Hulk in Barcelona because French Mastiffs like Hulk are prone to conditions such as hip dysplasia and heart problems, which often affect larger breeds as they age. They can grow up to 27 inches tall and weigh 110 pounds.

While welcoming Hulk, Messi had taken to social media and had written, “New member of my family. Thanks, love, for this beautiful gift.”
