First Quarter
Novak Djokovic leads first quarter
Section 1
Defending champion Novak Djokovic needs to win the title in the tournament to retain his spot in the No.1 rankings. Djokovic returns to the tour after recovering from an elbow issue. He leads the first quarter and will begin his action from the second round. The Serbian is set to face the winner between Luca Van Assche and Tomas Etcheverry in his first match of the tournament.
Djokovic is likely to face Stan Wawrinka in the third round. The Swiss will begin his campaign by facing Ilya Ivashka in the first round. If he advances to the second round he will be facing 26th seed Grigor Dimitrov. 13th seed Cameron Norrie and 17th seed Alex de Minaur are the other seeded players in the section.
Section 2
Seventh seed Holger Rune leads the second section in the first quarter. The Dane will face a qualifier in the second round. 10th seed Felix Auger Aliassime is also present in the section. He has also received a bye from the first round and will face either Daniel Altmaier or Chris O’Connell in the second round. 22nd seed Sebastian Korda and 30th seed Miomir Kecmanovic are the only other seeded players in the quarter.

Section 3
Casper Ruud is entering the Italian Open after bowing out from the second round at Madrid. He leads the second quarter. The fourth seed will face either a qualifier or Arthur Rinderknech in the second round.
Tommy Paul is the next top seed in the section. The 16th seed will fce the winner between Pedro Cachin and Cristian Garin in the second round. 23rd seed Botic van de Zandschulp and 28th seed Ben Shelton are the other seeded players in the section.
Section 4
Eight seed Jannik Sinner is all set to make his return to the tour after the Barcelona Open/ The Italian is the eighth seed and he leads the second section in the second quarter of the draw. Sinner will meet the winner between Jaume Munar and a qualifier in the second round.
11th seed Karen Khachanov is also part of the section. The Russian will begin his campaign in the second round and will face either Brandon Nakashima or Gregoire Barerre. 24th seed Francisco Cerundolo and 29th seed Tallon Griekspoor are the other seeded players in the quarter.

Andrey Rublev and Taylor Fritz are present in the same quarter. Both the players are likely to set up blockbuster fourth round contest in the tournament. Sixth seed Rublev is likely to face Alex Molcan in the second round. Meanwhile, Taylor Fritz will meet either Nikolas Jarry or Yannick Hanfmann in the second round.
Spaniards Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, who is the 27th seed and 21st seed Roberto Bautista Agut are present in the same section of the draw.
Section 6
Third seed Daniil Medvedev leads the section section in the quarter. Ugo Humbert or Emil Ruusuvuori will be his opponent in the seconbd round. 14th seed Hubert Hurkacz and 19th seed Alexander Zverev are also in the section.
