Sindhu took a 3-1 lead early in the first game. However Yeo Min didn’t let the Indian take a big lead as she fought back with a 4-3 lead and posed a good challenge against the second seeded Sindhu. From then on, a neck-to-neck battle ensued between both the players. Min with a cross-court smash took a 11-9 lead to enter the interval.
After the break, Min took two points on the tort and led 13-9. The Singaporean continued with her attacking prowess with some lovely smashes to continue her charge and went on to leads 20-15 with five game points at hand.
Min couldn’t hold her nerves when it mattered the most. She made two errors by hitting her smashes wide. Sindhu used the momentum and was quick to level 20-20. Neck-to-neck battle ensued between both the players and Sindhu made a terrific comeback to finally win the first game 24-22.

But this time the Indian fought back much early in the game and grabbed a 5-4 lead. From 5-5, Sindhu bagged four successive points to go up 9-5. She then entered the interval with a 11-7 lead.
The Singaporean fought back and levelled the scores 14-14. Neck-to-neck battle continued and both the players were level 17-17. A couple of errors from the Singaporean helped Sindhu claw her way back and she took a 20-18 lead. A net-error from Min helped Sindhu win the contest.
