According to reports, the England Football Association is planning to offer Gareth Southgate a contract extension until 2024, which will see him manage the 3 Lions atleast until the next UEFA European Championships which is scheduled to be held in Germany. The extension if it goes through, will see the former Crystal Palace man earn a salary of £6 million (nearly double of what he earns now), highest in the history of England’s national team alongside former manager Fabio Capello.

Talking to the media this week- England skipper Harry Kane said: “I would love him to stay. But it will come down to him and the FA and his personal decision. We will see how that goes.”

According to reports from England based outlet The Sun, if Gareth Southgate decided not to renew, the England Football Association would be keen on appointing another English manager with Brighton’s Graham Potter the obvious candidate, former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard could also be a choice, given that he is also admired within the England camp.
