Shubman Gill opened up about how important is to gain confidence and get support from the captain.

“Watching you play, It’s actually very soothing and pleasing to eyes,” Hardik said to Gill. “What has helped you in your career?” quipped the skipper.

“Backing from Team management and the captain is a must for my game. 90% of the credit goes to my dad, he saw the vision in me and the way that I practiced,” replied Gill.

Later Hardik talking about his bowling said, “It was my field day. It was my last game (before break), so I went full throttle.”

IND vs NZ

Shubman Gill kept up his absurdly impressive start to his international career. He became the seventh Indian batter to reach the three-figure milestone in the shortest format.

The Indian captain fearlessly chose to bat first in a key decider despite the fact that the pitch was supposed to favour the chasing team. After Ishan Kishan’s early dismissal, Rahul Tripathi (44 off 22) chipped in and provided the ideal foundation for a massive score.

In contrast to the others, Gill stood out and continued his masterful innings with an unbeaten score of 126* off just 63 deliveries. Indian skipper Hardik’s cameo of 30 runs from just 17 balls enabled the team to reach staggering 234 runs.

The NZ hitters attempted to attack right away because of the big target that they had to chase, and Hardik once more opened the bowling by taking a wicket in the first over.

The batters were uncomfortable after Arshdeep Singh claimed two wickets in the second over of the game. All other batters were dismissed for single-digit runs, with the exception of D Mitchell and M Santner, who both scored in the double digits.

The best bowler for India was Hardik Pandya, who finished with four wickets and a 4.0 rpo economy.

The 168-run margin of victory for India in this match is the largest in T20Is, giving them another feather in their cap.
