Shubman Gill: After disappointing WTC Final, attention shifts to West Indies tour for Shubman Gill

Speaking about Gill, he had a disappointing outing in WTC final. The opening batter could not cross 30 in both innings. While Gill misread Scott Boland’s line in the first innings, in the second he was controversially given out after Cameron Green took a low diving catch at slips. Things got worse for Gill took Twitter to criticize the umpire. Gill was fined 115% match fees.

With WTC done, attention shifts to Windies’ tour of Gill. The right-hand batter is expected to play the entire duration of the tour. With some of the senior players set to be rested for the white-ball series, Gill is expected to play a key role in opening the batting for India. While he is in good form in ODIs and T20Is, the opening batter would love to make some statement in the Test format.
