Before Shubman Gill only three Indian batsmen had crossed 100 plus boundaries in an IPL season. Virat Kohli currently holds the record with 122 boundaries in IPL 2016 for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal who too had a record breaking run with the bat in IPL 2023, slammed 108 boundaries and scored over 700 runs till the end of the league stage.
Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant enjoyed a wonderful season in 2018, when he raked up 105 boundaries and scored over 600 runs in the season.
