Shaheen Shah Afridi still in Dubai – Asia Cup Cricket LIVE: Despite of getting injured and being ruled out of Asia Cup 2022, Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi is staying put with the team in Dubai. According to media reports in Pakistan, Babar Azam requested Afridi to ‘STAY BACK’ with the Pakistan team for the entire duration of the event. Shaheen is currently undergoing knee treatment in Dubai. He will stay in the team hotel itself. “Babar wanted him to stay with the team. Management wants to closely monitor his injury rehab. He will be staying in Dubai itself with the team.” confirmed PCB spokesperson to the local media in Pakistan.

Pakistan adds Fast Bowling Coach to aid Shaun Tait: A slight change in management has taken place on the Pakistani side. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) added a fast bowling coach assistant to the contingent.

Umer Rashid, one of the highly-rated bowling coaches at the National High-Performance Centre, has been added to the Pakistan men’s side. He will be assistant to the fast bowling coach for the Asia Cup.

The PCB said Rashid has worked in the development of all the national side fast bowlers since their early days, including helping Mohammad Hasnain to return to competitive cricket.

In the new role with the national side, Rashid will support Pakistan fast bowling coach Shaun Tait in the United Arab Emirates. Rashid has been included in the player support personnel list on the recommendation of head coach Saqlain Mushtaq, the board added.

Pakistan and India will play their Asia Cup opener on August 28.
