Sebastian Vettel says “You can never rule out” on Formula 1 return

Sebastian Vettel shocked the Formula 1 world by retiring in 2022. However, since then, he has often hinted at a return to racing. Once again, he has spoken about his future in racing and Formula 1.

Sebastian Vettel has been enjoying life after retiring in 2022. The former Red Bull champion shocked the entire Formula 1 world by announcing a shock retirement. Since retiring last year, he has delved deep into a lot of his passion projects. We last saw him in Formula 1 at the Japanese GP. He talked about a potential return to Formula 1 and about racing in general. Since then, he has been linked to a drive in the WEC (World Endurance Racing).

Formula 1 Still Uncertain

Sebastian Vettel is still uncertain about his future in Formula 1. He retired from the sport to give more of his time to his family and his passion. And he has done exactly that. The calendar will only get more strenuous with time.

Sebastian Vettel said, “You can never rule out something like that [returning to F1]. But at some point, the time will be over. My age wasn’t the issue and it was my decision to draw the line. But I didn’t draw it just to cancel it a year later.”

Sebastian Vettel continued, “I have the privilege of spending more time with my family and my children, that is a priority. Just as I have rediscovered the world in recent years, Formula 1, no matter how big it may be, has always become smaller.”

Bee Hotel

Sebastian Vettel brought his bee hotels to the Japanese GP this year. In a bid to promote environmental preservation, he made the bees the mascot. They even renamed Turn 2 at the Japanese GP as ‘Buzzin’ Corner’.

A Drive in the WEC

Sebastian Vettel never reached the highs he achieved with Red Bull. Some think that’s the reason he finally retired.

Therefore, it is plausible that Sebastian Vettel would rather drive in the WEC than drive an uncompetitive car in Formula 1. After the Japanese GP, he has even been linked to a WEC drive.

Jota, a Porsche customer company in the WEC, is trying to tie down Sebastian Vettel for its second car among other Formula 1 legends like Jenson Button and Robert Kubica.
