Sebastian Vettel shocked the Formula 1 world when he announced his retirement last year. The 4-time World Champion for Red Bull was driving for Aston Martin in his twilight years. In a recent interview with Sky Sports, he was asked about his potential return to Formula 1. His response left the Formula 1 world in a tizzy. And then Helmut Marko added some more spice by saying he wouldn’t want him at Red Bull.
Sebastian Vettel Remarks
Sebastian Vettel spent his last 2 years in Formula 1 in an Aston Martin placed firmly in the midfield. This surely had an impact on his motivation to continue. Having had so much success at Red Bull and Ferrari, fighting for points would’ve meant nothing.
Sebastian Vettel did say his decision to leave was final. However, he is now giving cryptic answers.
“I can’t say no, because that you don’t know. I think it’s something that if you asked all of them [Alain Prost, Niki Lauda, Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen], probably some of them would have said ‘no’. And some of them I don’t know, but in the end all of them came back, so I can’t exclude it.”
“It probably will depend much on when, and obviously it’s not endless, because 36 is not like, ‘yeah in 10 years’ time’.
These words have got Formula 1 fans hopeful for the return of the German driver.
