SAT20 League Auction: Cricket South Africa (CSA) is all set to follow BCCI’s way. There will be players’ auction instead of a widely-popular players’ draft for the inaugural SAT20 League. CSA has set September 19 as the auction date. However, with all top players already snapped up by franchises, it won’t be anything like IPL Auction. Furthermore, CSA has named their new venture SAT20 instead of going for any fancy names. The league will start on January 23. Follow SAT20 League LIVE & IPL 2023 Live Updates on InsideSport.IN.

“We’ve got an extensive list of international players that we’re sorting out for the auction. We’re still finalising some of the auction details and we’re sorting out the player registration because of the large number of players. There has been an element of pre-signing that has been taking place and the teams have a purse of $2 million that already includes the pre-signed players,” League commissioner Graeme Smith said.

The six franchises, all owned by IPL teams, have already made big-name signings before the auctions. However, franchises like Pretoria Capitals and Sunrisers Eastern Cape will have everything to play at the auctions. The two teams have only signed two players each.
