Sanju Samson: Samson recovers from a knee injury, likley to make a comeback during Austrlia ODI Series

Samson is not part of the ongoing New Zealand white-ball series owing to a blow he took on a knee during the Sri Lanka series. While the injury was not too serious, the wicketkeeper batter was ruled out of the New Zealand series. After clearing the fitness test in NCA, Samson is up and running, and decided to go on a long drive in Harley Davidson.

The wicketkeeper batter is not part of the Australia Test series, as BCCI selectors opted to go with KS Bharat and Ishan Kishan in absence of Rishabh Pant. However, Samson can make a comeback in the ODI series starting on March 22 as he is 100% fit.

“Sanju has returned to the NCA for injury assessment. From what I heard, he is at 100% and is available for selection. As for Bumrah, it will take another month or so. We expect him to be fit before the ODI series against Australia. But it will depend on his progress. At present, he is not fit,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport on Saturday.
