Sania Mirza farewell match: Sania Mirza set to bid farewell in front of home crowd as Hyderabad gears up to host Indian Tennis Queen’s last match on 5th March – Check OutThe event has been planned to give a fitting tribute to the Indian Tennis icon. The day is set to witness two mixed team matches between two teams led by Sania Mirza and veteran Rohan Bopanna. According to a release, one match is set to feature a mix of actors, cricketers, and Tennis players. While a mixed doubles match between Sania/Bopanna and Ivan Dodig/Bethanie Mattek-Sands will also be played.
Sania posted a video on her social media account on Sunday, 26th February and gave an update about the farewell match. “I have some really exciting news. I am all set to play my last-ever Tennis match exactly at where it all started for me 18-20 years ago in the LB stadium on the 5th of March. I can’t wait to play in this exciting match in front of you all for one last time on the Tennis court competitively.” she said.

“I hope to end this journey on a beautiful note in front of my friends and family. But most importantly in front of my most loyal fans who have been through everything in this journey,” she added.
Earlier this year, Saina bid an emotional farewell from Grand Slams by finishing as runner-up in the Mixed Doubles at the Australian Open. She played alongside Rohan Bopanna and the pair lost in the final.
Sania then played her career’s final professional match during the recently concluded Dubai Tennis Championships. She paired up with Madison Keys and the duo faced a first round defeat. hey went down in straight sets against Russian duo of Liudmila Samsonova and Veronika Kudermetova.
Mirza, who turned 36 in November, had a highly successful career in tennis. She won six Grand Slam titles in doubles and mixed doubles, as well as numerous other titles on the WTA tour. She also reached a career-high singles ranking of 27 in 2007, becoming the first Indian woman to achieve that feat.
