Tottenham Hotspur: The one piece of advice given to all sports persons would be to avoid Social Media after a disastrous loss or a personal mistake that led to a loss. The merits of Social Media are there for everyone to see, but we also know the dark side of the rise of Social Media now. It is easier to hide behind a profile and send hate messages or abuse to anyone. After Tottenham’s loss to Bournemouth, we saw the dark side of the same. Davidson Sanchez and Pedro Porro deleted their Social Media accounts, after vile abuses, due to their performance in the Bournemouth game. Follow Tottenham Hotspur Football Club LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN

Sanchez-Porro: Tottenham Hotspur stars Davidson Sanchez and Pedro Porro DELETE SOCIAL MEDIA accounts after vile abuse, KNOW Why

In what comes as no surprise in today’s day and age, both players were subjected to a lot of hate messages after the Bournemouth game. Sanchez and Porro, both, decided that it would be best to deactivate their Social Media accounts. After being replaced in the second half, Sanchez received jeers from the crowd.

The centre-back entered the game barely midway through the first half and left after less than 22 minutes after he made a mistake that led to Bournemouth’s second goal. After receiving hatred from admirers, Sanchez was the first to delete his Instagram account. Porro, who joined Spurs just in January, did likewise by deactivating his Instagram and Twitter accounts.

Although Sanchez, 26, has played 203 times for the club since arriving from Ajax in 2017 for £42 million, he has been virtually ignored this season. With some questionable performances this season, including a terrible “thin air” tackle during last month’s FA Cup loss at Sheffield United, the Colombian hasn’t done much to win over the supporters.

Against the Cherries, Sanchez was exposed right away when he dropped the ball two minutes after entering the game. Before Mathias Vina levelled for the visitors in the 38th minute, the center-back mishandled the ball. Later, as Dominic Solanke sped by him to make it 2-1 in the 51st minute, Sanchez fumbled the ball once more. He was subbed off in the 58th minute subsequently.

Hugo Lloris’ words

Tottenham’s skipper did not hold back while addressing the whole situation. Lloris slammed fans for booing Sanchez’s every touch after his mistake helped Bournemouth score a goal. Lloris also described the situation as ‘sad’.

The skipper said, ‘It started earlier, it’s when he came on the pitch. I’ve never seen this in my career. I feel really bad for Davinson. He’s a team-mate, he’s a friend and he’s been fighting for the club for many many years now, and it’s just sad. The story is sad for the club, for the fans, for the player. It’s something you don’t want to see in football.’

Acting head coach Cristian Stellini sent Sanchez on in the 35th minute and subbed him off in the 58th minute. He said, ‘Davinson has to know it was only a tactical decision but we need to support him because it’s a tough moment for him and also for all the team. So we have to create unity in our dressing room and in between us, and we will do.’
